The widescreen format gives you 70% more actual screen area than a 3.5-inch screen. Primarily this translates into a better view of the area through which you are driving. This is especially useful in showing you what parks, restaurants, ATM, gas stations, etc. are nearby, or in letting you know whether a detour is a good idea. Also, the device itself is larger, meaning controls on the screen are more widely spaced and somewhat easier to push.

In most areas, TMC Clear Channel traffic broadcasts are continuous — there’s no waiting for scheduled traffic news updates or random alerts. Because traffic broadcasts are received via a “silent” FM data channel, you can still listen to music or news programming on your car radio without interference from incoming FM traffic data transmissions.

Very happy with the performance and operability of the unit. Only grip is that the bluetooth doesn’t always auto synch. Requires a power off and on to recognize the phone. Would be nice if MP3′s and photo’s could be loaded directly to the sd memory card instead of connection of the garmin to the computer.

Overall I love this product. The FM traffic transmitter tells me when there is an accident or construction ahead so I can detour. Since one of my favorite things is day trips where I don’t typically know where I am going this has been a great purchase for me. On the other hand there have been a couple of times that I have been sent to a dead end or pasture and the nuvi is still telling me to go straight. Usually the detour option will get me back to a good location.

4 Stars good product overall, need better installation method
there are two ways you can install it in a car, either on the windshield with the suction cup or on the dashboard with a sticky pad. the stick pad kept on peeling off. the suction cup stays well, but because the long slope of the windshield, the touch screen becomes a little out of reach, especially during driving.

On the other hand, I have not seen any good way to install after market electronics in a car without altering the existing trims. So, I am not blaming them, just be aware.

simply put – this is a fabulous product. very practical. bluetooth feature works great with my smartphone. only wish there could be some way to totally eliminate the static in the FM transmitter. i don’t go anywhere without my Garmin.
